The 89th Academy Award nominations were announced on January 24, 2017. The awards are to be presented on February 26, 2016. La La Land leads the nominations with 14 nominations which ties both Titanic (1997) and All About Eve (1950). The film 13 Hours was nominated for Best Sound Mixing but was disqualified at the last moment for lobbying going against Academy rules. Moonlight took home the big prize after an accidental announcement of La La Land.
