This might have been an ad for sound, but it is the same experience you have if you see an awesome action movie in the theater!!!
Action August is over, and brought fifty-five new movie reviews to BasementRejects. It has been extremely challenging to review all these films since many of them aren’t my favorite type of film, but it was also nice to see some of the movies I enjoyed as a teen (and how being an adult changed my perspective of them).
Action movies aren’t for everyone and they aren’t always for me, but they often are what becomes “blockbuster” films. I think that it is a result of appealing to mass audiences through action (that brings in the guys) and often a love story (which helps woo women).
The other aspect of the action pic is the sheer spectacle of most of these films…you want to see action pictures in the theater where you can see the big booming explosions and hear the sounds reverberating through the walls…plastering you to your seat like the old Maxwell advertisement with the man glued to his chair with the intensity of the sound.
BasementRejects is still growing strong and even though Action August 2013 is over stay tuned for more action and other themed months like the upcoming 31 Days of Horror (the 3rd Annual!!!). Get your geek on!!!
