The awards did not do a live presentation of Best Short Documentary, Best Film Editing, Best Make-Up and Hairstyling, Best Original Score, Best Production Design, Best Animated Short, Best Live Action Short, or Best Sound. An physical incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock was also noted as a point of contention during the airing.
